1/2 acre

4–6 oz.

Step-by-step mixing instructions:
  1. Measure out the Avian Control and liquid dish soap.
  2. Mix Avian Control and liquid dish soap together in a small container first — this helps them blend smoothly.
  3. Pour the mixture into your sprayer.
  4. Fill the sprayer the rest of the way with clean water.
  5. Gently shake or stir to combine before spraying.
Pro Tip
Dish soap helps the product stick to grass, leaves, and other surfaces instead of running off. This ensures the solution spreads evenly and stays in place longer, so it works more effectively where you need it.
Application Technique
  • Apply in a fine mist so plants look damp but not dripping. Runoff wastes product and reduces effectiveness.
  • Walk slowly and spray in overlapping passes, similar to mowing your lawn.
  • Pay special attention to areas where birds feed or roost most often (lawns, gardens, patios, rooftops).
  • Avoid direct spray on houses, cabins, sheds, or fences. The product may leave dark marks. Always test on a hidden corner before treating larger areas.
  • Don’t spray bird baths, feeders, or decorative ponds.
Frequency
  • Start with weekly applications until birds stop returning.
  • Once birds are trained to avoid the area, you may only need to spray every 2–4 weeks for maintenance.
  • Reapply sooner after heavy rain, as water can wash the product off.
Treat consistently — birds may return if the area isn’t maintained.
For Agriculture & Large-Scale Areas
Print
Use the Agriculture & Large-Scale guide for broad coverage on farms, vineyards, orchards, and other large areas where birds cause damage.
Mixing Guidelines (Ground or Aerial Sprayers)

Avian Control® Bird Repellent is typically applied at 24–32 oz. per acre using your standard spray volume of water.

Water volumes may vary depending on your spray equipment.
A surfactant may be used with Avian Control if your spray system does not agitate the solution.
Step-by-step mixing instructions:
  1. Measure out the Avian Control.
  2. If required, add surfactant (recommended if your sprayer does not agitate).
  3. Pre-mix in a small container for smooth blending.
  4. Pour into the sprayer tank and fill with clean water.
  5. Agitate before and during spraying.
Pro Tip
Avoid tank-mixing unless necessary. If mixing, ensure other chemicals are not acidic (pH ≥ 7.0). Add a buffer if water pH is below 7.0 (common with well water).
Application Technique
  • Adjust nozzles for a fine mist, not heavy droplets.
  • Compatible with pump, electric, tractor-mounted, or aerial sprayers.
  • Spray in overlapping passes for uniform coverage.
  • Focus on crops, feed areas, barns, and other bird congregation sites.
  • Avoid overspray on homes, cabins, or equipment — if needed, apply a light mist and always test a small area first.
  • Do not spray livestock troughs, bird baths, or decorative ponds.
Frequency
  • Reapply every 7–10 days especially after rain or irrigation.
  • Maintain consistent treatment until bird pressure decreases.
Extra Tips for Success
  • Day of Harvest: Safe for listed crops up to harvest (see label).
  • Worker Safety: Restricted Entry Interval (REI) is 4 hours.
  • May also be applied in barns, packing sheds, and other farm buildings.
Avian Migrate
InvisiDye UV Marker
Avian Migrate Goose & Bird Repellent with InvisiDye UV Marker

Avian Migrate gently irritates birds’ taste buds and contains a special colorant that only birds can see under UV light. This combination makes the treated grass look and taste unpleasant to them, so they quickly learn to avoid those areas. Optionally, InvisiDye® UV can be added to enhance visibility for birds while remaining invisible to people, helping to reinforce treated areas and improve effectiveness.

  • Spray in overlapping passes for uniform coverage.
  • Avoid overspray on homes, cabins, or equipment — if needed, apply a light mist and always test a small area first.

Frequency
  • Reapply every 7–10 days during high bird pressure.
  • Repeat applications after heavy rainfall or irrigation.
  • Start treatments early in the season to prevent birds from establishing feeding patterns.
Extra Tips for Success
  • Apply early in the season before birds establish feeding patterns on your property.
  • Consider adding InvisiDye to visually train birds without affecting crop appearance.
  • Avian Migrate may “gel” below 50° F. store at room temperature at least one day before use.
